Ubuntu comes with several games such as Mines, Same GNOME, Mines, Chess, Mahjongg, and Sudoku. The Internet applications include Ekiga VoIP client, Evolution Mail, Pidgin instant messenger, Vinagre VNC client, Terminal Server Client, ..... Are you running compiz? Do you see any error messages on the console? I get some blank windows with compiz & nvidia, and have encountered problems with intel. Try using '-defaultvisual' option for mathematica to see if it helps. .... bug with its Gnome Terminal. Initially the Terminal comes detached from the settings you are likely to make under Appearance/Fonts. Only after changing settings in /etc/fonts/conf.d the previous expected functionality is restored. ...Every version of ubuntu I try has keyboard input problems. You MIGHT get excused if there is absolutely, positively no other way to do some task by using a GUI, but the words "command line" or "command prompt" or "open a terminal window" would normally be considered grounds for being booted from ... Given that it's so easy to install proprietary drivers, software etc I tend to see this as a non-issue, but it would be nice to atleast get a big fat message telling you why it's not included, and a big fat ...
